Boo Friggin Hoo

My eyes are dried out and sting-y from all the eye-rolling I've been doing.
Apparently Whoopi Goldberg was shamed to tears when she emoted that she was hurt that the a Oscar's montage from Sunday's telecast didn't include her big fat face and giant Predator-like hairdo.

Whoopi Goldberg's omission from an Oscar montage – perceived by her and others to be a slight that left the View host in tears – was "an absolute oversight," the award show's producer tells PEOPLE.

Although described as a montage of hosts, the piece shown at Sunday night's telecast on ABC was actually "supposed to be a montage of 80 exciting moments of the Academy Awards" culled from hundreds of hours of footage, says Cates. "Basically, that was not a montage about hosts."

He noted that former host Steve Martin also wasn't in the montage.

I rolled my eyes again after re-reading what I just copy/pasted. Boo hoo, Whoopi. Boo friggin hoo.

The article from People.com is here.

CHP to go Stealth

I don't know about you, but I've become pretty adept at spotting the headlight cluster of the Ford Crown Victoria. The telltale wide-set headlights with orange marker lights just to the inside of each headlight of each Crown Vic CHP cruiser has always been the subject of my rearview mirror glances for the past 17 years.

Now, I have to start worrying about unmarked Dodge Chargers joining the CHP fleet.

More after the JUMP.

Victoria Jackson is Now My Favorite SNL Actor!

Stumbled across Victoria Jackson's website today: www.victoriajackson.com
She could use some web design help, but the content of her site is so refreshing! All this from a product of Hollywood?!

In this New Year of 2008, I pray to God for the safety of our troops, blessing, protection and wisdom for our President and leaders, forgiveness for our country, and a renewed sense of obedience to God's Ten Commandments, (which are basically Love God and Your Neighbor as Yourself,) healing for my sick friends, salvation for my lost friends and enemies, safety and blessing on my children, and some good roles for myself....roles, not rolls. Oh, and that my husband...oh, that's too personal. (TMI
for the Internet.) And, thank you Lord, for your amazing creation of nature and our bodies and the stars and all the other mysterious wonders you have made. You are an awesome God. Your will be done. In Jesus name, Amen.

And this:

Open Letter to Joy Behar and Others Who Speak Like Her:

I'm really tired of your hatred rants against Pres. Bush. Have some respect for authority and for the people like me who voted for him. I did not vote for Bill Clinton, but I would never use my SNL connection to publicly criticize him and I would never speak of another human being with such vitriol. Pres. Bush did not start the war against America and he is doing a great job with the situation that was put upon him. Also, we do not have a king. Our system of government has checks and balances. Instead of complaining, why don't you take a political history course and run for office and see what good you can do for the world. The tongue is a powerful little thing. Use it for some good.

Love,VJ

Surprising, isn't it?

Cousins

Here's a picture of Hannah and Zach with their cousins, Lainey and Owen from today's hanging out.

(Technically, they are my first maternal cousin's children so they are Zach and Hannah's first cousin twice removed or second cousin once removed. I can't figure out how those family geneologies work. Maybe one of you can help explain it to me.)

My uncle took the picture. I tweaked it a little in good ol' Photoshop.

Military Caffeine Gum Available

Check out this article from the cool guys at Caffeine Fiend.

200mg absorbed straight to the head in 15 minutes definitely gives a noticeable head change. A constriction can be felt quickly around the eyes and tongue, leaving a numb feeling for the duration of the gum...

Awwww yeaaahh.
