Spring Break 06 - Family Style (episode 1)

So here I am on the flip side of a five-hour car ride and an unrestful nights "sleep". I don't know if it is the residual caffeine from a Jones Energy Drink still in my system or the full-sized bed (I'm used to a queen and prefer a king :- ) that made it hard for me to sleep. Actually, I'm pretty sure it was Zach shifting and tossing and turning in his Bob the Builder sleeping bag that kept me up.
The drive was uneventful and actually pretty pleasant. I've never seen LA freeways so clear. I did the 400+ mile trip in 5 hours flat. With one stop for gas at an Arco in Boondocksville, I think we did alright.
The kids slept through the whole trip. We left Union City a fewe ticks before 11pm Friday night and arrived at our destination at Winston's house at 4am Saturday morning. Win's very gracious to put us up in his new condo. It's a nice place with split levels and a huge kitchen island. Huge.
Today we are going to visit Annie's college friend, Sherry; her husband, LAPD Officer Jeff H. and their twins. I think we're meeting for lunch at a restaurant called "Islands".
So far there's not been much to say. I'll report more later.
Cheers!
