Spring Break 06 - Family Style (episode 06)

Day two of Legoland. We visited only the Explore Village and the Dinosaur Island. Dinosaur Island was pretty cool although there was one part that was quite cute (read: quite a scam.) There's this thing called Fossil Station where you pay $3 for one bucket and shovel or $5 for two. Then you let your kids sit in a sand pit and dig sand while you wait in the baking sun. Genius. There was a water park and a Duplo playground that the kids really enjoyed. There was also another rollercoaster that was pretty fun.
After Legoland, we all went down the block to "U-Pick Strawberries" to play the role of the migrant farmer picking fresh strawberries from the field. Only instead of getting paid $3 a day for picking the strawberries, we paid THEM $10 for a half-hour of OUR labor. I jest. It was actually quite fun for the kids.
Later, after a short break back in the hotel we headed over to San Diego to have dinner with Jen and Roy and Prince. (Prince is their Golden Retriever.) Zach had a great time playing with Prince and now wished he could have a dog.
I'm pretty pooped out right now so I'm going to stop here. If I think of anything else to mention, I'll do it in tomorrow's entry.
Good night!
