Spring Break 06 - Family Style (episode 07)
Dude.
I'm tired.
It's 11:30pm which is normally my peak hours-of-operation but, man, I'm beat.Today we went to the moderate-amusement park called Sea World. Somehow, the faded pastel paint on all the buildings achieve less of a tropical feel and more of a early 80's fell. Perhaps that's the look they were going for back in 1983.
Most everything worth doing required an extra cost. It was amusing to me that they had a water ride that featured a station just outside that sells ponchos to help keep you dry. The irony is subtle but amusing. (Perhaps the place works as an amusement park after all!)
The kids, of course, had a blast. I don't think there is anything that can damper their spirits.
We ate at Joe's Crab Shack for lunch... err... brunch.I had the daily special: Crawfish Etouffe. The food was pretty good. I noticed something about the service professionals here in SD; they're all really nice. We've dealt with three waitresses so far on this trip and all three have been model waitresses in terms of their ability to make one feel welcomed.
Anyway, after the lunch we went to Sea World. (I'm typing out of chronology.)
Shamu, which is clearly the only attraction worth seeing at Sea World, did actually live up to the hype. Of course we got soaked because we chose to sit in the "soak zone". If it weren't for Shamu, Sea World would pretty much be just a sham.
After souvenir shopping, ingesting two funnel cakes, getting soaked by hundreds of gallons of whale-water, and walking nearly 5 miles, we had to rush Yvette to the airport for her to catch her flight. We went to Carrow's for dinner and finally came back to the timeshare.
Tomorrow we will do a couple of simple things and then head home.
